Sr. Projects Administrator / Special Projects Coordinator / Project Manager Assigned to VDOT Suffolk District Office to perform pre-construction, scoping and design oversight of maintenance projects associated with Hampton Roads Tunnels and Bridges. Responsible for overseeing scope and design development and preparing project documents for advertisement. Implemented and maintains updates of a Master Project Schedule using Primavera P6 of all Hampton Roads Eastern Region Operations Tunnel and Bridges projects to establish accountability of team members to meet advertisement deadlines and construction milestones.

·   Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of transportation project management and project engineering. Knowledge of roadway design criteria, construction methods, standards, specifications and materials to include VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications and Standards. Engineering experience related to transportation design, construction and the project development process. Ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple projects and contracts.

Review RFP information and associated drawing documents to develop proposal schedules. Develop both Design Build and Bid Build types of schedules for both government and private sectors. Expert level of Primavera P6.  P6 schedules produced are Cost loaded, Resource loaded, and WBS and activity code loaded per Army Core of Engineers specifications standards for government projects. MBP, Chesapeake, VA (April 2009 – October 2011)

Hampton Roads Transit (HRT), Norfolk, VA, 7.4 mile Light Rail project, The Tide

Lead Consultant (June 2009-Oct 2011) Assigned to Hampton Roads Transit (HRT). This project consisted of seven independent contracts. Performed all change order review for five of the seven contracts. Acquired extensive knowledge of construction methods of light rail from track construction to the electrical systems. At the same time acquiring extensive knowledge of the processes and procedures required on a Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) project as well as the internal processes and procedures set forth by HRT.

Resident Engineer (March 2010-June 2011) Resident Engineer for the construction of the 11 passenger stations and three park and rides along the 7.4 mile Light Rail project for a combined cost of $6 million.

Ø      Station Finishes ($4.5M). This contract consisted of the construction of the eleven light rail stations along the 7.4 mile Light Rail project.

Ø      Newtown Rd. Park and Ride ($1.2M). This contract consisted of a 267 space parking lot and a bus loop.

Ø      Military Highway Phase I Park and Ride ($300,000). This contract consisted of two bus pull offs along Curlew Dr.

·                     Single point of contact between the contractors, HRT and Design Consultants

o      Responsible for ensuring that all work activities performed are in accordance with     applicable contractual agreements and within project budgets and schedules

·                     Managed the daily duties of an Office Engineer and two field inspectors.

 

CMSS Architects, Virginia Beach, VA (March 2007-December 2008)

The East Group, Greenville, NC (April 1999-September 2005)

Project Manager / Construction Administration - Responsible in charge representing the owner for the construction of Commercial Office, Hotel, Church, Industrial, Manufacturing and Municipal facilities ranging in cost between $8 million and $20 million. Contract types included Hard-bid, Negotiated Contracts and Design/Build. Possess extensive knowledge of Construction Means and Methods, Responsible for technical Problem Solving in the field without supervision and was responsible for maintaining 3-4 projects simultaneously.
